We took the Mometrix NCLEX course and checked out its claims to see if it could deliver on its promises. Here's what we found.
1. Instructional Material
Mometrix gives its students an abundance of instructional material to help them get ready for the NCLEX exam.
Subscribers to the course have more than 80 instructional videos with an associated audio file. That way, they can listen to the material even when they are unable to watch it.
The course also has 354 lessons in online written format, plus 607 flashcards.
We appreciate that Mometrix has something for everyone. Whether you learn best through visual, auditory, or written material, every student has a way to interact with the information in a way that suits them.

2. Practice Material
Mometrix's online practice material is designed to help you prepare for the National Council Licensure Examination.
You can study with over 1,100 high-quality NCLEX practice questions that simulate the actual test and come with detailed answer explanations.
They also have 8 complete practice tests that students can take as many times as they want. The practice tests simulate all NCLEX question types so that students can get a feel for what to expect on test day.
3. Guarantee
Mometrix allows you to try its NCLEX review course for one week, and if at any point during those seven days you feel like it is not for you, they will give your money back without any questions.
Mometrix does not have a refund policy based on your passing the test. Regardless of your outcome on the exam, they will not refund your money.

Shortfalls
Overall, Mometrix online course offers quality test preparation for any test-taker, but it does not have live teaching options. If you want more personal touch, it may be better to look for a different NCLEX RN course.
Mometrix test preparation provides many learning options, but no hard-copy book is available for your studies. The online material is excellent, but you can't use the service without internet access.

Comparison to Other Products
Let's see how Mometrix stacks up against other NCLEX courses.
1. ATI NCLEX
ATI offers more than 3,300 practice questions and the ability to create adaptive quizzes and detailed explanations. You can sign up for either an online-only version, one with tutoring, or one with live instruction. However, you only get a fixed 12 weeks of access with ATI.
Mometrix also has many of the benefits offered by ATI, but it doesn't offer live instruction. With Mometrix, you can choose how long you want to take the course.
2. Kaplan NCLEX
Kaplan provides test prep courses for many standardized tests, including NCLEX, and it is available as a self-paced and live online instruction course.
Compared to Kaplan, Mometrix does not have a live instructor option. That being said, if your exam is coming up in only a month or two, Mometrix is cheaper than Kaplan NCLEX prep.
3. Princeton Review
The Princeton Review provides test preparation courses for many exams but is recently focused on the NCLEX RN review market. However, its current offering is limited to practice questions only.
Mometrix has a larger scope than the Princeton Review's offering, with video and audio classes, NCLEX practice test questions, flashcards, and written study guides.

The Mometrix NCLEX study course offers a single plan that you can purchase from their website. With this, you get access to all Mometrix's materials for the price of $59.99 per month.
Our students found this pricing schema to be crystal clear. But, they had difficulty deciding how many months of study they needed to put in before taking the exam.
Real Student Results
We were curious to find out if students who took the Mometrix NCLEX prep course experienced a real improvement in their NCLEX RN test scores. To do this, we had students take a Mometrix NCLEX prep test before and after using the course.
Since NCLEX is pass-fail, we couldn't get numerical data. That being said, we did see an improvement in the percentage of students who passed the NCLEX at the end of the course - a 100% pass rate.
How Accurate is Mometrix Compared to the Real NCLEX?
We wanted to determine how accurate Mometrix NCLEX review tests are compared to the real NCLEX. We had five students who had used only Mometrix to prepare for the NCLEX RN test give us their results from their final Mometrix practice exam.
They then took the actual NCLEX, and we compared the results.
The NCLEX is a pass-fail exam, and all our students passed their Mometrix practice test. We can report that they all also passed the real NCLEX for a 100% correlation.
